most people eat fruit like it’s an afterthought.
a few grapes after dinner. a banana on the way out the door. half a melon sitting next to whatever else is on the plate.
that’s backwards. and it’s why most people feel worse after eating fruit, not better.
fruit digests in about 15 minutes on its own.
cooked food takes 3 to 4 hours minimum. those two things cannot share the same window.
fruit before a cooked meal, always. eat it alone. wait 15 minutes. that’s how long it needs to move through before anything else comes in. put cooked food on top of undigested fruit and the fruit gets trapped. it sits. it ferments. that fermentation is the bloating, the gas, the discomfort everyone blames on the fruit.
it’s not the fruit. it’s the order.
once you’ve had a cooked meal, wait 3 to 4 hours minimum before eating fruit again. the cooked food is still in there digesting. fruit landing on top of it causes the same problem in reverse. it ferments. it sits. it causes problems.
arnold ehret wrote about this over a hundred years ago. always eat fruit first. it was rule one then. it’s rule one now.
the lymphatic system has no pump.
your heart moves blood. nothing moves lymph except breath, movement, and what you eat. the lymphatic system is the body’s waste removal system. when it’s sluggish, everything is sluggish. chronic fatigue, brain fog, skin issues, weight that won’t move. all of it connects back to stagnant lymph.
robert morse, naturopath and biochemist out of port charlotte, florida, spent 50 years teaching one thing above everything else. fruit is the greatest lymphatic cleanser available to the body. not a supplement. not a herb. fruit. specifically berries, melons, and citrus. the water content, the enzymes, the organic acids. they move lymph the way nothing else does.
this is not a wellness trend. this is physiology.
then there is the orange.
fresh pressed orange juice is the first thing that goes in every morning. before anything else. on an empty stomach, after water. that’s not preference. that’s protocol.
the orange is concentrated sunlight. vitamin c. bioflavonoids. organic acids that wake up the lymph and get the kidneys filtering. florida grows it. the body was built for it. and the timing is everything.
OJ on an empty stomach first thing in the morning hits differently than OJ at noon with food. the body is fasted. the lymph is still. the window is open. you pour the orange in and it moves through clean, does its work, and clears the path for everything that follows.
that’s why it opens every day. not because it tastes good. because nothing else does that job at that hour.
hotema said so long as man must eat, the best food is fresh fruits and fruiting vegetables.
he wrote that in 1957. he lived to 92. he spent his life studying longevity across ancient civilizations and kept arriving at the same place. fruit. always fruit.
the body you are living in was designed to receive this food. the enzymes are already there. the receptors are already there. the whole system is already built for it.
you don’t have to learn how to eat fruit. you just have to stop eating it wrong.
here are the only rules:
fruit first. always alone. wait 15 minutes minimum before eating anything else.
no fruit within 3 to 4 hours after a cooked meal. the timing protects everything.
eat in volume. one banana is not a meal. three bananas, four dates, a bowl of mangoes. that’s a meal. the body needs the calories. under-eating on fruit and blaming fruit is the most common mistake.
morning is the window. your body has been fasting all night. the lymph is ready to move. fruit in the morning, alone, is the most efficient thing you can put in your body at that hour.
genesis 1:29 didn’t say fruit was a snack.
it said it was food.
that’s not a dietary recommendation. that’s the original blueprint. and the body still recognizes it, even after years of eating everything else.
give it fruit first. give it space to work. notice what happens.
